I have Duplicate IP Addresses..."IP ADDRESS CONFLICT" on my home network

I desperately need that answer to just ONE question. A friend came over last night to try to get Kailey's DSi connected to the internet and somehow fucked up my router. The error message I receive is that there is an IP Address Conflict. WTF does that mean and how do I change it??!! I'm seriously stressed out here. I can connect thru the modem, obviously, and the other computer says the signal strength from the router is "excellent" so it's transmitting but it won't connect. AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!

No dice...
What's your set up?
Modem connected to a router and 2 computers plugged into router?
Does the first computer work when it is connected?
If the first one works fine alone does the second one give the conflict?
If you try to turn on the second computer alone does it work alone?
If it doesn't, go into the network settings and make sure it is all DHCP and that there or no Gateway IPs specified or DNS manually configured.
Last: When you get the IP Address conflict then go to START, RUN, type cmd on the Run line and hit OK. Go to your Command prompt.
Type
ipconfig /all
What IP address is it showing?
What Gateway IP Address?
All I can think of is that there is something preset in one of the systems as far as DNS, Gateway or Static IP Address.
OR that when you add the router to the mix if that is causing the conflict it means that the IP Address of the router is conflicting with the Modem
Try this...
Reboot both computers after reconnecting them to the router.
1.) Turn it all off
2.) Reset Router to default settings if it makes it easier (pin hole in back)
3.) start modem (plug it in)
4.) when modem lights are all lit and ready plug in router
5.) when lights are all on the router (and ONLINE indicator is on or something that shows internet connection) fire up a computer and make sure it works
6.) When first works fire up second computer
