When my daughter first came to Costa Rica on a foreign exchange program in 2007 I visited her and her school for a few weeks. I instantly fell in love with the culture and the community. From that point I made a decision that I was going to grow my company to a point where I could contribute to the community here. In the last 3 years the goal of running the business from here has been successful and my company has made many contributions to the local community through teaching and personal intervention with kids and families. I personally teach a group of children math, English and a little computer knowledge. It’s an amazing venture. Right now we are witnessing problems with flooding and changes in the earth due to over 30 earthquakes in the last year and over 3000 tremors! The ground shifts have re-routed water patterns and in this situation that and new construction are diverting water directly into the path of my nephews house! We are seeking assistance to build a simple prefab house so that the family can be safe and dry. They are currently displaced and I’m asking anyone and everyone if they can make a small contribution.
The problem with this water damage is that due to rainy season here getting progressively worse over the next few months there are a variety of terrible bugs that come out of the ground and basically infest the house. This in turn creates a very unhealthy environment especially for the young baby.
We know everyone is broke…We aren’t rich either.
If you are interested in making a small contribution via Paypal I can collect it and hopefully within the next week I can help them to begin rebuilding the house.
Thanks if you can and sorry to bother my friends with a post asking for contributions….but my mission to save the world never ends. I hate seeing people suffer.
